A: Your r4i gold plus card has been firmware updated into latest version. (R4-DS-AU will have every r4i gold plus card firmware updated into latest one before shipping out to you)

Q: Can I use firmware writer / burner to save kernel or games into memory card ?
A: This burner is used only for firmware update, and you need to get another USB micro adapter to do kernel saving.

Q: Why does my R4i Gold Plus fail in being recognized in console ?
A: You need to wipe off the dirty on the metal pins of R4i Gold Plus with a rubber. Or you need to do new firmware update.

R4I GOLD PLUS Card Kernel Installation

1. Download latest R4i Gold Plus kernel to computer.
2. Unzip the patch via Win-RAR tool, get 3 items: "moonshl2" folder, "SYSTEM" folder and "R4.dat" file.
3. Copy all these three to the root directory of the Memory card.
4. Kernel installation completes.

    I was expecting to be able to play more recent games that were released on the dsi but NO you cant. It cant seem to read the savefile for some reason. I have tried all fixes and none work.
    I cant even play some older ds games on a NEWER r4 card.
    DONT BOTHER!
    You're better off buying the r4 v3 upgrade. At least I could play games with ease on that

    R4i Gold Plus supports all DS games, oldest to newest. And you need to check what sav name differences between your old r4 card and R4i Gold Plus.

    Hey DISAPPOINTED, it is not suppose to be read by the pc, instructions r on site and included on zip from firmware update you download from site. You take the micro sd and connect it to pc and copy the update.bin file to it. Then place micro sd back into the cart. Next connect the card to the usb reader then plug into the usb port. A blue flashing light will flash, wait a few seconds and it will update the r4i gold card, and the light then will be a solid blue, it means the update is complete. You will get NO messages on your pc, but it will update, I have done it and works fine. Just that some games get a savfile 82 error, like final fantasy tactics a2 which i have not gotten to work yet.     I've just recieved 2 of these R4i Gold Plus cards for my kids 3DS's and they are unable to be read on anything. Very disappointing. The usb readers you recieve with them, they are not recognised by anything, PC or Mac. Recieved no instructions with them? Cant find any instructions on this website??

    The USB Slot adapter is used for firmware update only. It will not display on your computer.
